The Spartan Niner Empire invented the 49er Invasion in January 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia — and we're damn proud the 49ers embraced it and keep the tradition going strong. Go Niners! Ah ooh~!
What started as a passionate group of fans traveling together to support the team away from the Bay Area grew into a full-blown movement. The 49er Invasion is now recognized by the organization itself as one of the most electric fan traditions in the NFL.
Yes, that is Dr. John York at our tailgate — 2014 Divisional Playoff game in Carolina. Thank you Brandon Moreno for connecting the dots on what the 49er Invasion can be. That day, Mr. York saw it, and the next season, 49er Invasion was born. Ah ooh~!
